Cover Letter to Prospective Employer

Dear Sir,

My name is Alexandra Andersen and I am interested in applying for an intern position with your company.

Currently, I am a sophomore at Jacksonville University majoring in International Business and have a 3.7 grade point average. I am also a member of the JU women’s golf team and have extensive local, state and international golf experience (Puerto Rico and the Caribbean). My goals are to graduate from JU, complete an MBA specializing in human relations or marketing, and obtain LPGA certification such that I can work in the golf industry. 

As part of my plan, I want to work with a major company in the golf business during the summers so that I can gain the benefit of learning the intricacies of the business from a recognized professional organization. My previous experience includes working as a golf shop assistant, golf starter, volunteer assistant to the golf professional, and some minor work in golf club repairs. I would enjoy the opportunity to improve my skills and learn as many new parts of the business as I can. My available dates for the summer are May 3 – Aug 18, 2006.
