Shawn Beauchamps

Shawn Beauchamps was born on August 11, 1987 in Broward General Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. His mother's name is Tina Beauchamps and his older brother is Jeffrey. When Shawn was 2 years old, his father became fatally ill and died the same year. From then on its was just him, his mother, and brother in the poverty congested neighborhoods of Ft. Lauderdale. His single-parent mother had to work three jobs to pay bills, keep food on the table, and a roof over our heads. The standard of living was extremely low. She was rarely home to take care a young Shawn, so she appointed his older brother, who is only two years older than he is, to take care of him and make sure he stays out of trouble. At this time Shawn was just starting elementary school, and was hooked up with a group of bad friends that eventually influenced him to do illegal activities. In school, Shawn was always a stellar student. He was in the top of his class throughout elementary school. He received awards every week and trophies every year for his academic achievements. He was elected to skip second grade because he was learning at a rapid pace compared to the other students in his class. When Shawn reached the fourth grade he was knee deep in criminal activity, such as shop-lifting, smoking, fighting and robbery. Shawn was caught for the first time one day and that changed his life around. He turned his life over to God and found the right path. Shawn's mother, Tina, saved up enough money and the family moved to a cleaner, less problematic neighborhood on the other side of town. Shawn attended Northeast High School and enrolled in their Business Magnet Program. As a Sophomore, Shawn was awarded Most Outstanding Student of the Business Magnet Program, beating out all the talented Juniors and Seniors in the school. Shawn went on to receive straight A's on his report card that year. In his Junior year, Shawn was appointed member of the National Honors Society. Shawn graduated Northeast High School with a 3.8 GPA and had the decision to go to any college in Florida. Shawn was exceptionally talented in football and basketball, using his 6'3" frame as an advantage over the smaller high school children. Jacksonville University was named as one of the top 50 best accredited schools in the country. They had a football team that has recently started, so he felt he can contribute a lot to this expanding team. Jacksonville University has an excellent Accounting program, so he made the choice to enroll at this school. So far, Shawn has received an A in both of his Accounting classes. He currently plans to work towards a Master's degree and receive CPA status.
